Post-Sandy Health Tip

A sample of floodwaters taken from lower Manhattan last week indicates that E.coli, gasoline, and coliform are present. If ingested, it could cause gastrointestinal problems such as vomiting and diarrhea. Even with receding waters, contamination of previously flooded objects still exists. Children are particularly prone to becoming ill from this as they are more likely to put their hands in their mouths after interacting with contaminated objects.
