Commencement Speaker: Nick Bollettieri
Nick Bolletieri is a legendary, award winning tennis coach. He will also be accepting an Honorary Doctorate from New York College for his contribution to the world of sports, fitness and wellness.
Recognized as leader and innovator in the world of sports, he has coached nine #1 players in the world, as well as well as a multitude of world class players. Besides being a legendary coach, he is also an accomplished author, TV commentator, and has devoted time to help underprivileged children through community based programs throughout the world.
A few of the special honors and awards that Nick Bollettieri has received are:
- Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health Spirit of Sports and Service Award
- Cartier Grand Slam Legend Award, awarded by the American Caner Society
- United States Olympic Committee National Coach of the Year for tennis
- National Symposium for Children and Poverty Award
