Student Services
Our Student Services Office provides students with a wide range of services to assist them during their studies here at the New York College. These services include:
- Orientation for new students
- Study skills and time management workshops
- Individual academic counseling
- Course of study advisement - customized for students who are accelerating or decelerating their courses of study, and returning students
- State Board review classes
- Tutoring Programs - both professional and peer

The Steve Kaufman Library
The Steve Kaufman Library, located within The New York College facility, contains the most extensive collection of materials about Holistic medicine available on Long Island. It is open to students, faculty, staff and the general public.
The library houses an ever growing collection of anatomical models, books, magazines and journals, specializing in Oriental medicine, acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage therapy, and Holistic nursing. Cooperative agreements with hospital and medical school libraries provide an invaluable resource for obtaining additional material. Videocassettes, DVDs, CDs and CD-ROMS are also available for loan and in-library use.
Several networked workstations provide OPAC access, access to the Internet, e-mail, word-processing, and spreadsheet applications. Online indexes to professional periodical literature include subscriptions to Gale's Health Reference Center - Academic which contains (in electronic form) periodical literature, reference books, and pamphlets. Alt-HealthWatch, a data bank of complete articles from periodicals, focuses on Holistic approaches to health care and medicine.
A reserve tutoring room is now available for one-on-one assistance and small study groups.

The New York College Bookstore
The college bookstore carries all required student texts along with a wide variety of books on other medical and health related topics. Texts range from those covering anatomy and physiology to traditional Chinese medicine and Holistic health care for pets. The store also carries acupuncture and massage therapy supplies and an assortment of New York College clothing and logo merchandise.
