Welcome to Wild, Wild Wellness with free meditation, yoga, t'ai chi classes and healthy snacks! No reservation required. Check our Facbook page for more information.
Free Meditation classes weekly at the Syosset Campus open to the College community and the public. Wednesdays 5:30pm - 6:30pm. Bring a yoga mat or blanket.

The 2018 Commencement Ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 20th at 11:00am. It is being held at the Melville Marriott in Melville, New York.
The 2016 New York College Commencement Ceremony took place on Sunday, May 1st. The Commencement Speaker and Honorary Doctorate recipient was Tina Tandon. Tina Tandon is a successful fashion designer after she graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She graduated Summa Cum Laude where she was able to work with top American and European brands such as Escada and Kenneth Cole. She also received an award from Jay Baker, the former President of Kohl’s. Additionally, she received the Presidential Scholars award, and continues to remain a member of the Presidential Scholars society at FIT. Tina Tandon spent 10 years gaining a wide array of experience working behind successful leaders such as Christian Lacroix and Tommy Hilfiger. She also coordinated fashion shows for Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta and Ralph Lauren. Tina Tandon advocates a holistic lifestyle by ensuring that most of her work is derived from natural, biodegradable fabrics which sets her collections apart from other contemporaries.
The 2015 New York College Commencement Ceremony took place on Sunday, May 3rd, at 3:30pm at The Melville Marriott. This year's Commencement Speaker and Honorary Doctorate recipient was Carol Alt. Ms. Alt is known for her successful career as a model, actress and as a best-selling author on Raw Food Nutrition. She also hosts her own show "A Healthy You" on Fox News.
The New York College 2014 Commencement Ceremony was held on Sunday, May 4th at the Mellville Marriott. This year's Commencement Speaker and Honorary Doctorate receipient was George Phillips, Jr., Songwriter/Recording Artisit/Producer who has worked with Starpoint, Toni Braxton and Milli Vanilli. Mr Phillips is also a Behavioral Health Administrator in Maryland. He wrote a special song for the College called "New York College, Where You Get the Knowledge" which was played at the ceremony and was a great hit with the graduates.
The 2013 Commencement Ceremony was held Saturday, May 11th with Dr. Barbara Ross-Lee, the first African-American female dean of a medical school in the US as the Commencement Speaker. She inspired the graduates with her words "Each of you began a journey long ago that led to where you sit today.. It hasn't always been easy or fun..but you have acquired the knowledge and mastered the skills necessary to be a health care provider....[and] today you have arrived!"

The Commencement Speaker was The Honorable Michael Balboni, the former "Homeland Security Czar" for New York State who addressed the importance of homeland security and Infection Control. The College awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Science to Mei Kong, a nurse, nursing educator and currently Senior Director of Patient Safety, including Infection Control, for the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. It also awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters to Cygalle Dias, founder of one of top rated spas in the world and long time advocate of wellness and holistic health for her clients.

The 2008 Commencement was attended by over 1000 people. Commencement Speaker, Nick Bollettieri, is a legendary, award winning tennis coach. He accepted an Honorary Doctorate from New York College for his contribution to the world of sports, fitness and wellness and he delivered an inspiring address to the graduates encouraging them to be Champions of Life.
Recognized as leader and innovator in the world of sports, Nick has coached nine #1 players in the world, as well as well as a multitude of world class players. Besides being a legendary coach, he is also an accomplished author, TV commentator, and has devoted time to help underprivileged children through community based programs throughout the world.
A few of the special honors and awards that Nick Bollettieri has received are:
- Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health Spirit of Sports and Service Award
- Cartier Grand Slam Legend Award, awarded by the American Caner Society
- United States Olympic Committee National Coach of the Year for tennis
