New York College entered into collaboration with the NY Open Center to offer its institutionally accredited degree programs at this convenient location on East 30th Street off of Fifth Avenue.
The Open Center is a non-profit educational and cultural center offering programs intended to heal the body, nourish the soul and awaken the spirit. It has hosted major figures as Dr. Oz, Andrew Weil and Deepak Chopra as teachers of their workshops. It has been New York City's leader in holistic health continuing education for over 28 years.
This newly renovated building has rooms with high ceilings and individual character. New York College conducts both didactic and technique classes for Massage Therapy, Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine students, as well as yoga and t'ai chi classes, and has staff here to support the students and faculty. This site is open 7 days a week. New York College students also receive discounts on Open Center workshops.
The Open Center has a small bookstore and café on the main floor, and a peaceful meditation room that students can use. It is convenient to three subway lines, the main branch of the New York Public Library on 40th Street and Fifth Avenue and some of New York's finest art galleries, hotels, restaurants, and shops. There is off-the-street parking on 30th Street and 29th Street.
The New York College Teaching Clinics are located near this location at 244 East 32nd Street. Student interns under supervision of licensed therapists, offer Swedish and Asian massage, acupuncture treatments and herbal consultations to the public Monday - Sunday at discounted prices.
