The first Accredited Massage Therapy, Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine School in SoHo/Chinatown
New York College began massage therapy and acupuncture classes at the University Settlement, in the heart of the Lower East Side at Bowery and Houston Street, in Fall 2011. The Houston Street Center, a new community center opened in the spring of 2006, offers access to modern classrooms, offices and meeting rooms, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a full court gym, a dance studio and more.
The Houston Street Center is a new, accessible facility offering a variety of classroom space and is used by other prestigious schools such as NYU, Hunter College School of Social Work, Marymount Manhattan College and Cooper Union. Each classroom has windows providing natural light, as well as a sink and wireless high-speed (T1) Internet access, and accommodates both didactic and technique classes.
The New York Public Library – Mulberry Street Branch at 10 Jersey Street, is less than 4 blocks from the facility. The Center is open 7 days a week and is easily accessible by subway or bus.
A Whole Foods Market is located on the ground floor for fast snacks and casual meetings in their upstairs seating area.
