Website Analytics And Advertising Privacy

This disclosure explains the website analytics and admissions advertising-measurement tools used on nycollege.edu. It is separate from the College’s FERPA policy governing student education records.

NYCHP uses Google Analytics 4 to measure website activity, such as page views, link clicks and admissions-form submissions. The admissions lead event includes the selected form’s program and a shortened form identifier; our lead-tracking code does not send names, email addresses, phone numbers or form answers to Google Analytics.

NYCHP uses Meta Pixel and Conversions API to measure website visits and successful admissions inquiries and to help connect those inquiries to advertising. For the Massage Therapy, Acupuncture and general admissions inquiry forms, NYCHP shares the inquiry’s program, event identifier, page URL, IP address, browser information and available Meta browser or advertising-click identifiers with Meta.

When a successful form submission exposes an email address or phone number to this tracking code, the code normalizes and SHA-256-hashes those values in the browser before sending them to Meta through the College’s server endpoint. The endpoint does not accept raw email addresses or phone numbers. Hashing helps match records without sending the original values through this endpoint, but does not make the data anonymous. Meta may use these identifiers to match an inquiry to a Meta account for advertising measurement.

This admissions lead event is not triggered by donation, continuing-education registration or other forms. Website visit tracking is separate from admissions lead tracking.

The tracking code reads available Meta _fbp and _fbc cookies. When an advertising link includes fbclid, it may retain that click identifier and its arrival time in session storage to connect a later inquiry during the visit to the advertising click. The custom lead-tracking code does not store email addresses, phone numbers or form answers in browser storage.

The College’s embedded admissions forms are provided by HubSpot and collect the information you choose to submit for admissions follow-up. The form submission to HubSpot is separate from the limited measurement events described above. You can manage cookies and site storage in your browser and review the providers’ privacy information and available controls. Browser controls may affect measurement and embedded services.
