Leave of Absence Policy
Matriculated students in good academic and financial standing may request a Leave of Absence by submitting a Leave of Absence Form to the Office of Student Services before the beginning of the term. An approved Leave of Absence is valid for one trimester only, may be taken once per academic year, and does not create additional institutional charges.

Title IV Leave of Absence Requirements
For Title IV purposes, a leave request must be submitted in writing, signed and dated, state the reason for the leave, and ordinarily be submitted in advance. Approval requires a reasonable expectation that the student will return. The total number of approved leave days may not exceed 180 days in any 12-month period, and no additional institutional charges may be imposed because of the leave. For applicable term-based programs, the returning student must be permitted to complete the coursework begun before the leave without additional charges or additional Title IV assistance for that coursework. Failure to return may cause the student to be treated as withdrawn as of the date the leave began and may affect federal loan repayment.
Failure to Return from Leave
If a student does not return following an approved Leave of Absence, the College may administratively withdraw the student. For Title IV purposes, the withdrawal date may be the date the leave began, and the student’s federal loan repayment obligations may be affected. Contact the Office of Student Financial Services for individualized guidance.
If a student does not obtain a Leave of Absence and wishes to re-enroll in the College, he or she will be required to apply as a new student and will be responsible for the terms of admission and program requirements applicable in the terms of readmission.
